Today’s Bits and Pieces: Blanky Farms Chicken

Dec. 29, 2008

Dear Blanky Farms Consumer Affairs, (name Blanky protects the brand name in question)

I am busy, just like you. I do not want to write this letter, but I can’t sleep at night for wanting you to know how I feel and how worried I am about your chicken product.

I am a very long time consumer of your products. I have 5 children and we do eat a lot of chicken.  Lately, I have purchased Blanky Farms chicken and it is tough.(more than once this past month) It does not cook properly and it looks wrong and it tastes wrong.  When you have cooked chicken for so many years, you know when something just is not right.  True, I do not go to the same market all of the time and do buy Blanky Farms product from different markets, but the product name is there and the product should be the same.  I do not buy off brand chickens because of the tough, wrong tasting, wrong texture I have been experiencing with your chickens lately.

A chicken is not a costly item, so when something goes bad, looks bad and is bad; the consumer just throws it out and starts again.  I am the same.  But this time, I have decided that you should know. I do not think you have the same quality or am I mistaken and it is just this time of year. I thought about just forgetting about it tonight when the chicken was again BAD, bloody after 2 1/2 hours of cooking and rank in taste.  I awoke in the middle of the night and got the trash out searching for the bag that held this chicken.  While I cannot send you the chicken, I can send you the bag.  I am sending the bag so you will know it to be YOUR product I am writing about.

I am writing for a number of consumers who do not have the time, skills or the inclination to write. Please check your products.  Pluck one out of the processing line and cook it. If it is like the ones I have purchased, it takes over two hours and still it is a tough bird and not worthy of your name.  Please be informed that your chickens lately have been bad. They have been like the off brands that are cheaper and supposedly less worthy.

Thank you in advance for your interest.

Sincerely concerned about Blanky Farms Chickens

Today’s Bits and Pieces: Cuss Like a Drunken Sailor

December 29, 2008 2:28 pm

I waited with AT&T for 45 minutes to change my program to a different package. Suddenly, they switched me to a survey.  I never got my request in and never heard from a real person. I gave them very bad ratings and then they said you have 30 seconds to tell them what you think and I learned something.  I can take a shower while on speaker phone, de-ball two cashmere sweaters, clean the kitchen, make the bed, get dressed for an afternoon luncheon, sew up two pockets of my favorite all time jacket on the sewing machine and cuss like a drunken sailor for 30 seconds.

Be Sun, in tenderness and mercy

Be Night, cover of disgrace

Be Stream, in gracious and generosity

Be Dead, in anger and nervousness

Be Earth, in humility and modesty

EITHER SEEM AS YOU ARE OR BE AS YOU SEEM

Come, no matter what you are,

Whether atheist or sun worshiper

Whether you’ve backslid a thousand times,

Come, no matter what you are.

Thank you for sending this Anna in Istanbul.
